Turkish spindles are my favourite kind of spindle (am I allowed to have favourites?). The method is slower than a drop spindle, but I enjoy the rhythm and speed that you can create yarn on these little tools.
A good friend of mine, Cathy, from Cat and Sparrow in Australia, produces these fun and colourful 3D printed spindles, which are great for learners, an amazing little spinner, and the perfect way to get your confidence up on a Turkish spindle before you graduate to a wooden version.
I have put one of her spindles, together with 100gms of Kent Romney wool top, which is a great starter fibre, with longer staple lengths and easy to draft.
PLEASE NOTE: Colours will be picked at random, but please contact me if you have a particular colour you would like to own.
Feel free to book into a spindle workshop, if you prefer face to face, otherwise you'll find a whole host of resources on YouTube to get your started.
