Beginners Learn to Knit Socks Group Workshop

Discover the most portable of knitting projects, by crafting your own cozy, handmade socks in our beginner-friendly sock knitting class! Perfect for knitters ready to take the next step, this class will guide you through the process of knitting a pair of beautiful, custom-fit socks from start to finish.

Learn essential techniques like knitting in the round, shaping the heel, and finishing the toe, all while creating a pair of socks you'll be proud to wear or gift.  Learn the anatomy of a sock, to better understand each step.

In this workshop, I'll introduce you to three different kinds of needles to knit socks with, for you to choose what suits your style the best.  We'll also knit 1x mini sock, so that you can finish 'a sock' within the time we have, and then go on to apply what you've learned to an adult pair in your own time.

This workshop is perfect if you're completely new to sock knitting and offers expert guidance, a supportive environment, and plenty of fun.  Step up your knitting game and join us for a class that’s as rewarding as it is creative!  You must be able to knit, purl, increase, decrease and cast off.

Class includes sock (4ply) yarn - we're going to hold it double, but please bring your own knitting needles 3.75mm (your choice of dpn's, short circular, or long circular for magic loop), as well as a light lunch and refreshments. Class time is 4 hours, from my home studio in Wimborne, Dorset.
